And mumdishdaily is my little corner of the internet!
I launched mumdishdaily in the spring of 2016 while I was still teaching third‑grade math at a public elementary school in Charlotte, NC. My twins were just three and four, and I found myself scrambling for quick, kid‑friendly meals that didn’t feel like a compromise. One night I posted a simple sheet‑pan chicken recipe on a personal blog, and within a week I got a handful of comments from other parents asking for more. That tiny spark turned into a daily habit of testing, photographing, and writing about the dishes that kept my family fed and happy.
Fast‑forward to today: mumdishdaily reaches about 120,000 unique visitors each month, has a newsletter audience of 15,000 subscribers, and hosts over 200 fully tested recipes. In 2022 I added a “Meal‑Plan Builder” tool that lets readers generate a week’s worth of dinners in under five minutes, and it’s now used by roughly 3,000 families every week. I’ve been featured in Family Food Magazine (July 2023) and collaborated with a local farm to create a seasonal “Harvest Series” that showcases ingredients straight from the Blue Ridge foothills.
I now call Asheville, North Carolina home, where I live with my husband Mark, our two kids (now 7 and 9), and a surprisingly vocal rescue cat named Basil. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway, kneading sourdough starter, or thumbing through my ever‑growing collection of vintage cookbooks (the oldest one dates back to 1922). My favorite things are a good cup of coffee, a sunrise over the mountains, and the sound of my kids laughing while they help stir the sauce.
